environmental advantage
Carbon Neutral
Reflex Ultra White Carbon Neutral is certified carbon neutral which means that all direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions associated with the product life cycle of Reflex Ultra White Carbon Neutral have been accounted for, reduced and then offset. To achieve this, Reflex underwent a comprehensive Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) which was verified by an independent auditor. The current LCA boundaries calculations include all emissions associated with the manufacture of Reflex Ultra White Carbon Neutral office papers to the point of export from Australia. Reflex Ultra White Carbon Neutral is currently in transition of its carbon neutral certification from Greenhouse Friendly™ to the new National Carbon Offset Standard Carbon Neutral Program.

FSC™ Certification
The FSC™ (Forest Stewardship Council™) certification denotes responsible forest management. FSC™ is a highly recognised, international not-for-profit organisation established to set standards, monitor and promote responsible management of the world’s forests. This product labelling guarantees that all fibre used in Reflex Ultra White Carbon Neutral is from well managed and other responsible sources.
Environmental Choice New Zealand Certification (ECNZ)
The official New Zealand Ecolabelling program, endorsed by the New Zealand Government, Environmental Choice encourages sustainable processes which reduce environmental impact during the product life cycle. ECNZ recognises the efforts of manufacturers in reducing the environmental impacts of their operations and provides an environmental labelling program operating to international standards and principles. The on-product logo specifies office papers as the designation and displays the license number.
ECF Lite Process
Following a major $350million pulp mill investment project, the Maryvale Mill converted its main facility to ECF (Elemental Chlorine Free) Lite pulping technology, an environmentally state of the art bleaching process, from the beginning of 2009. This new process eliminates elemental chlorine from the bleaching process necessary to produce premium high brightness pulp. The new ECF Lite technology at Maryvale exceeds the benchmarks for ECF pulp mills established by the Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC), Europe.
